Welcome back to the blog! As we did for Prismatic Evolutions misprints, today we’re diving into the error cards being pulled from Mega Evolutions Chaos Rising.
This set features some standout cards, including Mega Greninja EX, Xerneas, the Claydol Illustration Rare, Ninetales, and Deoxys.
Chaos Rising’s Albino & Bluebino error cards
Some ink errors occurred on several non-holo Chaos Rising cards.
Take the Ninetales below as an example: as you can see, some people pulled a version printed using only black and blue ink (known as the “bluebino” error), while others pulled an albino version (printed without blue, yellow, or red ink).
This error usually happens when the printing press runs out of ink during a print run.

The Great Haul Net shown below is also a super interesting example, as the card is partially missing cyan ink. It was most likely printed when the blue ink was almost running out.

If you’re wondering about the price of Chaos Rising error cards, they range anywhere from $30 to several hundred dollars. It depends on the severity of the error (albino cards are worth more than bluebino cards) but also the specific Pokémon printed on the card.
Chaos Rising Holo Back cards
Some reverse holo cards have been printed with the holographic layer applied to the back of the card. This results in a card with a regular front and a shiny back.
Chaos Rising Missing holo card
Somebody also pulled a copy of the Xerneas missing the holographic layer completely. So there are most likely more Illustration Rare cards missing their holo layer out there.
Other Chaos Rising’s Misprints
This reverse holo Fennekin has a sort of obstruction or additional white ink that masked the holographic layer on part of the card.
Chaos Rising’s Miscuts
As usual, miscut cards can also be found in Chaos Rising. The Minccino you see below it’s an interesting example of a die-cut error.
